Israel's Telegram ad market — crypto, fintech and regulated investing in 2026
Israel punches above its weight in crypto advertising on Telegram. Here is the brand-level breakdown after six weeks of indexing Israeli broadcast channels — exchanges, regulated brokers, blockchain projects and financial news.
Israel has a disproportionate presence in global crypto and fintech — the country minted more blockchain startups per capita than almost any other market, and that foundation shows clearly in Telegram advertising. After six weeks of indexing Israeli public broadcast channels with 1 000+ subscribers, we have the first reliable numbers for April 2026.
Scope of the indexing#
- Public Israeli broadcast channels, hand-verified, audience ≥ 1 000 subscribers.
- Payment rails tracked: TON cabinets (direct-to-owner payment) and EUR cabinets (official Telegram Ads Platform).
- Time window: impressions recorded between 2026-03-01 and 2026-04-19.
- Excluded: private channels, invite-only groups, channels under 1 000 subscribers.
Where the ad spend goes#
Three verticals dominate:
| Vertical | Active advertisers | Share of creatives |
|---|---|---|
| Crypto exchanges and wallets | 12 | 38% |
| Regulated investment platforms (TASE-linked) | 8 | 25% |
| Blockchain projects and Web3 | 10 | 28% |
| Financial news and analysis | 5 | 9% |
The most active brands: BitsOfGold (Israel's largest licensed fiat-to-crypto gateway), Bits of Gold IL, Simplex, and several web3 projects with Israeli founding teams targeting a global audience through Hebrew-language Telegram.
The Israeli creative profile#
Israeli Telegram advertising has a distinctive character:
- Hebrew-English code-switching — 52% of creatives mix Hebrew and English in the same ad unit. "קנה Bitcoin ב-ILS" (Buy Bitcoin in ILS) alongside English brand names and technical terms is the standard pattern.
- Right-to-left layout compliance — all major advertisers use RTL-formatted creatives, with CTA buttons on the left side of the visual frame. Brands that reuse non-RTL assets lose click-through.
- Regulation-forward copy — nearly all regulated platforms (those supervised by the Israel Securities Authority, ISA) prominently display their ISA licence number. Unlicensed brands that advertise are rare and short-lived on indexed channels.
- High bot-to-web CTA ratio — 41% of CTAs point to a Telegram bot, matching or exceeding the Italian market. This reflects Telegram's deep integration into Israeli crypto retail workflows.
The regulated broker layer#
Israel has a complex regulatory history with forex/CFD brokers — the ISA banned retail forex advertising in 2017 after a wave of binary-options fraud. What remains is a cleaner, licensed market:
- ISA-supervised investment platforms (like Meitav, Altshuler Shaham, More) run educational and brand campaigns.
- Licensed crypto exchanges (BitsOfGold, others) display their ISA/VASP registration visibly.
- No binary options, no unlicensed CFD — the post-2017 cleanup effectively removed these from Israeli Telegram advertising.
This regulatory cleanliness makes Israeli Telegram advertising unusually brand-safe by regional standards.
Web3 and startup advertising#
A unique feature of the Israeli market: web3 projects with Israeli roots but global audiences advertise in Hebrew on Telegram as a primary channel, not a secondary one. Blockchain infrastructure teams, DeFi protocols with Israeli co-founders, and NFT projects targeting the Israeli diaspora (particularly in New York and London) use Hebrew-language Telegram as a cost-efficient channel reaching a high-purchasing-power audience.
Cross-geo dynamics#
Several Israeli advertisers run multilingual campaigns:
- BitsOfGold: Hebrew primary, English secondary for diaspora in the UK and US.
- Blockchain.com IL: global brand with Hebrew localization targeting Israeli retail.
- Trading signals channels: bilingual Hebrew+English tips, monetised through Telegram subscriptions.
